What does SCA do?
SCA’s mission statement is: “SCA is committed to providing the basic necessities of clothing, diapers, and hygiene products for local families in need with children birth to five years of age residing in Scott County, MN.”
Who pays for all this stuff?
SCA is supported through donations of diapers and clothing as well as cash donations from many faithful groups and individuals. SCA is staffed only with volunteers so no one is getting paid from your donations.
Who can get diapers and clothes from SCA?
SCA serves all of Scott County, Minnesota. So you need to be a resident of Scott County, MN to receive our goods and services.
We provide diapers for children from birth to age 4. We make an exception for any special needs children who are older than 4.
Does SCA have income requirements?
No. Anyone who needs diapers and clothing is welcome.
How do I get started?
You will need to bring a current piece of business mail (like a utility bill) to show that you are a resident of Scott County. Also, bring something (like a birth certificate) that shows the age of each of your children who need diapers.
What happens next?
We will enter you into our system and give you an SCA ID card. This is all you need to bring with you each time you come to our site. You can take a picture of this ID card and keep it on your phone to identify yourself in our system.
How often can I get diapers?
We provide diapers once every calendar month. The amount you receive will depend on our available inventory.
Who can get period supplies?
We provide period supplies once every calendar month to any female in need from Scott County. If you are not an SCA client for diapers or clothing, you need to provide proof of residency in the county. The amount received depends on our available inventory.
Who can shop for clothing?
Any Scott County resident can shop for clothing once a month. If you are not an SCA client for diapers, you need to provide proof of residency in the county. The amount you receive will depend on our available inventory.
How can I help SCA?
Four ways:
Organize a diaper drive at work, church or in your neighborhood.
Collect clean, children’s clothes in good condition.
